Founded in 1947 in Japan by Mr Tsunami, Edwin was the first company to make domestically manufactured denim available in Japan. The company also created the world’s heaviest ring spun denim jeans, weighing in at 16oz, which featured the famous three colour rainbow selvage in 1963.
Not only this but Edwin introduced the ‘stone washed’ denim in the 1980’s, which transformed the industry and is still used today. Today, Edwin is still inspired by its Japanese roots but combines this with modern European thinking to create statement clothing. Edwin is one of the main denim brands available at Shmooz and we have two of their main fits, the ED-55 and the ED-80.
