Hummel is a Denmark-based sports apparel company. The company was started in 1923 by the Messmer family in the town of Hamburg, Germany. It currently manufactures apparel for football, handball, basketball, rugby league, Australian rules football, shinty and volleyball. The company has recently become an established footwear manufacturer which has become a firm favourite amongst the the fashion trainer consumer. Since 1923, Hummel have been the designers behind some of the most iconic sports kits from the 80’s and with the current trend for retro sportswear, Hummel have found themselves in very high demand. Keeping their focus on quality and technology has ensured that Hummel was always a permanent fixture across sports stores in Europe but have now crossed the boundary into the high end fashion stores as a retro trainer. The Hummel logo is a stylized bumble bee. Bumble bee in German is Hummel.
